Men Get Eating Disorders Too is an award-winning national charity which is run by and for men with eating disorders including their carers and families.
Men Get Eating Disorders Too "provides essential information that is specific to the unique needs of men and an online space for those affected to get their voices heard (e.g. peer support via our face to face groups and online). We also campaign in the media, organise awareness-raising events and provide training for professionals".
I am delighted to have been invited to become one of the new Trustees for this fantastic eating disorders charity. As a Men Get Eating Disorders Too board member I hope to be able to broaden the activities that I already do to raise awareness of the fact that men and boys get eating disorders, just like females, and that, given good evidence-based treatment and support, they can recover.
My main area of interest, as well as the above, is to help parents and carers of boys and young men with eating disorders - to point them towards support and resources, some of which can be found on this page.
